I recently built a quite stout little small block for my camaro and was wondering what temp thermostat would best suit it. I was thinking a 170 would be good, but am having trouble finding one. You can see the major mods in my sig. TIA

I've seen them at autozone down to 160*, if that'll produce enough heat for your heater that's what I'd do. Currently I'm running a 180* Tstat. When I swap the engine for a 350 next week it'll go to 160* tho.

Are you currently in CA? If so a 160' thermo will be fine. I have one in my '84 and during winter the heater would still get hot enough that I would have to keep it on low. As SeanSullivan mentioned, AutoZone (or Pep boys, Kragen) has them for ~$6.99. I have noticed that carb'ed cars (even comp. controlled) like to run very cool, roughly at 160'. Plus this temperature will not effects emessions, which I would presume (from your sig) you have no problems with.
