got a very nagging issue with my 89 iroc tpi. ive done some research already but I have many different symptoms that I cant narrow it down to one thing. Car cold starts fine, idles fine, drives fine. have a check engine light on, my speedo gauge doesn't work so I think that's what its for. after driving the car for a while, Ill turn it off when I get to my destination. Once I leave, the car starts fine, and drives fine, but coming to stops, the car does not want to seem to hold idle. it will jump between 500-800 rpm, and very slowly start flooding out and stall. It starts up again then will continue to die at the next stop and repeats this every so often. There are times where after the first stall happens, it will start up and not do it again for a while. I have zero mods done to this car, and the only recent mtce done to it was a new rad and new thermostat. any ideas? thanks..

Definitely scan the codes in case you have more codes than just the vss code. Off the top of my head it sounds like maybe the min air idle speed is off.

ive had a similar problem that went bad fast for me. check the resistance on your injectors. it should read 11.0 to 14.0 according to the Haynes manual. mine was reading 8.o to 17.0. that's way off. it got to the point it would not even start. it ran best cold but not when warm.
