Good sized carb for a powerful 350 or 383

What is a good sized carburetor for and 350 or 383? 750 CFM?

You probably haven't received any responses because your question is too open-ended. Really need to know more about the combination like cam, heads, intake, exhaust, transmission, use, etc.

For a low-RPM torquing 350, a 600 would be fine. Chevy uses a 750 Holley to rate their ZZ4 at 355 HP. 383's would use a slightly larger carb, but certainly nothing like an 850 unless the RPMs are sky-high.

Look at www.demoncarbs.com and check their recommendations for carb vs. motor. I think a 750 is what they would pick.

My 383 worked great with a Speed Demon 850 but I was also shifting at 6500 rpm. The 850's now on the big block and it may not be enough. It really depends on your combination of parts.

I've also seen an Altered dragster with a 377 engine and a 650cfm carb run mid 9's.

Racing at 3500 feet elevation but most race days it's over 5000 feet density altitude!
