the m/c solonoid ticking is back

I got a reman.carb for my 86 lg4(c/c) and what i think is the mixture control solonoid is ticking and loudly. My air/fuel gauge is all over the place and I noticed when it is ticking the gauge goes rich/lean with every tick, when it does stop ticking the gauge chills out and holds a consistent reading? This is a bad m/c solonoid, right? It doesnt do it with my old carb, but that one wont idle so I got this one,it does have a warranty.thanks

Make sure the thing is getting a good signal from the ECM before exercising your warranty. I believe that if you hood up a dwell meter (like was used with old points-style distributors) to the M/C solenoid wires (in addition to having it attached to the solenoid) and set it to the 6 cylinder scale you should get a dwell reading of about 35* if everything's working correctly.

should or will it be a consistent 35 or will it vary? The only time I get what I think is the correct mixture is wide open and then the m/c is not fuctioning, correct? At wide open my gauge is reading steady rich ,which tells me the gauge is correct and is hooked up good?I dont know.I never had a problem with this set-up so Im determined to make it work without stripping the computer out.The old quad ran without a problem(121,000ml) until I dropped some shavings from the air cleaner stud in it and it wouldnt idle.I have got no response from the co.that sold me this one so i guess they are not gonna stand behind thier product.thanks
