Hello all, awhile ago I posted that I was looking for a set of electric mirrors from a firebird that matched a 86 Monte SS.Well after sending the guy 60 bucks for the 2 mirrors, harness and switch and waiting 3 weeks for them to get here, aarrrgggg!!!Not only are they the wrong one's,but there is no harness or switch..I will wait for him to fix this, but if he doesn't,then I will post the name......

FYI, No thirdgen mirror is a direct match for a Monte Carlo. Also, all US/Canada thirdgen mirrors (82-92) are identical, with the only differences being power or manual.

ES87iroc,thanks for the input,I wish I had this advise givin to me when I posted before. But here's what I did.I pulled apart the Monte mirrors and the firebird mirror and put everything from the firebird mirrors into the Monte mirrors, and they work fine.FWIW,the only difference I can see in the housings is that where they mount to the doors, the firebirds are just a little shorter and have a bit more curve to them.I hope this info helps others.I think everything will work out with him,as long as he sends the rest of the parts......

Sounds good, I actually put thirdgen mirrors on my 79 malibu, you are correct the contour where the mirror attaches to the door is the sticky point. I just modified mine with a dremel and was good to go.
