I am happy to say I bought the car listed here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cama...e-edition.html
The guy was very well prepared, and was somewhat an enjoyable visit. He gave me professional pictures of the car being painted, vin report, and told me everything he knew about the car as it seemed.
Only thing I was worried about is driving home and the car is broke lol. I wanted his drivers license number in case, but he didn't want to fess it up. I instead got his address/phone number.
Because I nitpick, here are the flaws I noticed:
The paint does have its weird spots. For instance, the front bumper has some dimples it seems, couple of the skirt pieces seemed to be held by industrial strength adhesive (only noticed because very small gap), and the driver side mirror has a small run.
Driver side mirror glass is damaged a little
The radio in the car is pretty shitty imho, but better than the stock one.
Reverse grinds sometimes, but shifting 5/rev is ok.
Car overheats when A/C is on.
AUX Fan stays on.
A/C barely works, but WORKS! (all components look great!, need autofrost) =)
RS Badges arent in the greatest shape
Metal trim around hatch looks terrible
Right side turn signal doesn't work...lets hope a bulb fixes it.. (Rear stays lit) no indicator on dash, right front signal doesnt illuminate
Driver seat has a few rips along the side
Dash is cracked
Tint all around looks terrible inside. Outside, it doesn't look too bad visually. The driver side tint is scratched to hell inside. The hatch tint is a bit messed up, couple small chunks missing.
Dusty engine bay lol
Now to end with the good!
New directional tires
Great looking rims
Very nice looking paint
Hatch motor works perfectly
Trans never grinds when upshifting/downshifting, except sometimes in reverse.
2 Sets of T-Tops, crappy plastics, and glass ones in the bags strapped down in the trunk.
(I bought a car cover)
Working radio!
Strong motor
Strong trans
interior looks very clean, all original
all gauges work
starts up fine
No exhaust leaks, new exhaust (dont know how much of it is new)
PO stated all brakes lines replaced, all brakes are in great shape.
No rust as I can tell so far.
Drove home 2+hrs, I got a speeding ticket (90 in a 70, did a quick accelerate then slowed down passed an unmarked blue civ looking charger...) before I plated the damn thing LOL. Car worked great that 2+hrs home.
Oil changed recently.
I'm sure there is more!
All in all...I'm kind of eh about that car. I am excited I have a nice third gen, but I am actually worried about this cars reliability. I never owned a third gen that ran well, should I be afraid?
If I were to rate the seller, I would say nothing bad. He seemed nice, but to me it is always weird meeting strangers for sales.
