how much is this worth

Okay I'm in a bind. I'm a 19 year old kid without money, and this is my car............1984 Pontiac Trans Am, good paint with a scratch on one side (garage accident), good engine (73,000 original miles), good transmission (says AAMCO), interior is decent but needs reupholstering. The MAJOR problem is that it is a CUSTOM convertible, and the top is ripped, and leaks heavily into the back seats, and is rusting out the floor boards. The top motor is also going bad and shorts out/doesnt latch the top all the way. Therefore, I cant drive the car in the rain EVER. I have an offer to sell it for $2000 to a family member, what should I do? Could I get more or is this a pretty good price?

IMO I would sell it for the money, sounds like it needs alot of work so let someone else do the work, unless you have a place in your heart for the T/A.

Sell It!

Sell IT and buy something that YOU can actually use......in the rain even.......

Think of it as peace of mind...........plus you get the 2 grand!

2000 is a good price saw an 84 t/a Convert down the road from us that they wanted 1750 for and it had a lot of problems. I would have given them 1000 so take the 2000 and run. That is a good downpayment on something else. I have a 84 firebird vert that I paid 800 for but had to put a new top on and the top and labor cost me 1000 and I dont have the electric top so not sure how much that would cost.

If you had the money I would fix it up but if not take the 2 grand and run.

Just my opinion.
