1984 Camaro Convertable??
1984 Camaro Convertable??
Has anyone ever heard of such a thing or know who did them?
Everywhere I have searched online says there were no such thing, but a buddy just picked up this car for 500 bucks. The car is fully loaded with power everything and is powered by a V6.
I have seen hack jobs before, but I do not think this is one of them.
Here are a couple pics, Any ideas ?
Under the car you can see the frame rails, they look factory.
Also the back of the car around where the top goes down is fiberglass, the trunk lid as well.
Notice the power top button in the lower right steering wheel.
There are no signs of welding on the pillers and the interior looks factory. I'm digging the cool radio.
THANKS in advance!!
Chris

Aftermarket convertible conversions of the Camaro and Firebirds started showing up from roughly a dozen companies shortly after the model came out. My advice is to buy the best, most complete one you can find. If there are any trim pieces missing or damaged I'd say pass on it. You just won't find any replacement parts available with the exception of perhaps a new convertible top. Even that may need to be custom fabricated.

Hey Chris!
Looks like you might have something different. I have an 84 Z28 Convertible done by Autoform Corp. My car started life as a hardtop coupe and was sent from Van nuys to Elkardt, In to be converted. I am not sure of how many of these cars were done. Mine is strickly a two seater with a manual top that swings under a fiberglass speedster tonnuea.
