Adjusting front fender on convertible

I understand there's a difference between the coupe and convertible fenders. Here's my question: Is the convertible fender welded or riveted at the rocker area? The reason I'm asking is I want to loosen my fender and slide it back about 1/16+" towards the door, but before I do that I want to make sure there's no surprises since the 'vert fenders are a little different at the bottom than the coupes.

The extra bracket is welded to the fender, but the fender as a whole just bolts on.
