i believe you can get a tinted plastic window, but i looked into having the plastic window already on the car being tinted. couldn't find anyone that had anything that would stick to it. the only option i found was having someone take out the window and stitch in a completely new plastic window that was already darkened....which with labor costs it's not even worth the trouble.just get glass you'll be MUCH happier i PROMISE. i got a top from topsonline.com and i have NO regrets!
besides, glass will NEVER fade and look ugly

True- you cannot use film tint on a plastic window, but they do make tinted plastic and any decent top shop should have it. A glass window is nice, but much smaller and much less visibility than stock. If you keep it garaged, the plastic will last a long time (the original on my 1990 was just replaced in 2004!).

actually the glass windows are too much smaller, and they dont decrease your visibility at all.
here's a better look at what mine is like. i can see perfectly out of mine

and this is what a plastic window will eventually end up looking like

do you have any idea what that would cost to get a tinted plastic window installed? yeah mine was original until 2002, but i also figured out that you don't use glass cleaner on a plastic window.

this is an idea i thought of because i have a top and in good shape but the only bad thing is the plastic window but what if we use those sprays to black out tail lights? will it work?
the only thing i can see a problem with is folding the top. and it will crease the blackout paint. but its just an idea. maybe i should try it out.
