Rear seat belt Q?

I found a convertible supplement at the bone yard and in it it shows the rear seat belts as a two piece belt. Now my old 92 vert had rear belts just like the fronts, so did the 91 that I got the supplement out of. Both were firebirds. So was this a 90 and earlier thing? I will try to post a pic of the page.

I thought only '92's got the redesigned one piece seat belt. But I am not certain about that. But that is how the pre '91 (I guess) and pre '92's worked.

I was curious how the two piece belts worked. Cadillac was nice enough to post some pics of his.

My 89 is just like that. Its kind of a PITA but it works ok. When you slide the shoulder buckle into the lap buckle it does not want to go easily, and then getting it apart is a little PITA. What really surprises me is the lap belt is a manual adjust, I would not see whay the original retractor would not have worked...
