Pricing help on '90 Iroc Conv.
Hi everyone,
I have found a '90 Iroc Convertible for sale in a nearby town and need your opinions on how much I should offer. It is white/gray with 82K miles, has had one decent but not great repaint. I am thinking the repaint was because of clearcoat, because the carfax is clean, had it up on a lift and everything looks fine. The car look great from three steps away.
The good-new tires, injectors, computer,fuel filter and pump, everything flushed and fluids replaced.
The bad-the interior needs a serious detail and the steering wheel/airbag and convertible top need replacing because of poor condition and some of the guages do not work (probably cluster). Also, the car smokes on start up, so it will need seals/guides. I can do the work myself on all of this.
Has a clear title.
Where do I be on this car to make these repairs and not be in too deep?

UPDATE!
I looked at the car, made a deal with the guy for $3K, then he showed me the title and it had 182,000(!) miles on the title. I asked about the 82K on the odometer, and he first said that the lady at the tag office made a mistake, and then he admitted that the tag office told him that according to state records, the car had 120k miles on it in 1996, so he told her to put 182K on the title. Keep in mind that NONE of this was on the CARFAX, so always take a CARFAX with a grain of salt. I told him thanks, but I think I will pass.
