83 convertible

i was passing by a old car lot on my way home from work today when i seen her so i had to stop. for sale sign said it had a 390 cu in block. it has to be an autoform car cause it was a 2 seater. was the z28 package and it looked clean. even had the rims shined up. but they wanted 10,000 dollars for the car. now i know why it has been sitting though it is a texas car so it should have no rust underneth. just htought id inform you guys of it its in West Olive, Mi and its white with grey ground effects.

Re: 83 convertible

first thing is it would not be a 390. That would make it a Ford. And, I dont think that you would have to pay that much for a really nice 3rd gen Camaro or Firebird. If that sort of car interests you, by all means look and see what you can find. But, I think it is way overpriced.

Re: 83 convertible

Does everyone really believe that 10K is alot of money to pay for a nice third gen vert? Besides the deals I've been seeing in the last couple of months, which I attribute to the current state of the economy, I have never seen a nice vert for less than say 8K.
I bought my 88 GTA vert last October and I paid $6,500 for it. After putting a new top on it, weather stipping, fuel pump, starter, odds/ends, interior swap and new wheels...I have at least 16K in it... I'm just saying, I think its better to pay a little up front for a nice car, than pay way too much later to make it nice, and 10K isnt all that much money for a nice 20+ yr old car.

Re: 83 convertible

I wouldn't say 10k is a bad price for a nice autoform camaro.I stumbled upon mine(I have an 84 autoform z28).But I guarantee if I went looking for one to buy I probably wouldn't find one. They are rare cars.

Re: 83 convertible

It would depend on the car... The Autoform and the ASC's seem to go for the most...

The most I have recently seen an Autoform sell for is $15,000...

I think there was about 600 or so Autoform 3rd gens made total...
