86 Iroc convertible need opinions
I have been looking for a vert for a long time now. With not much luck. This one popped up on Craigslists. I emailed the guy and said the car runs great but the TLC it needs is paint. Bascially needs a paint job.
Since it's an 86 and not a factory vert. What should I look for regarding the conversion to figure who did it and can you get parts for these verts anymore? Do you think it is worth the 6k he is asking? I figure the paint will cost around 4K to 5k for a high quality professional job.

That car looks like a ASC conversion. $6k is a lot of cash for a car that needs
a paint job. If its all there and mostly stock and not cobbled up $4000 or less
would be a good price IMO.

Great color, limited production numbers even if it is an asc conversion. Miles are real low as well. Yes, price is on the higher end, but well worth a nice paint job. Keep it 5 years and you should be able to recoop your initial investment back. From a nice dry area as well so really don't have to worry about rusting issues. I wouldn't spend more that $2500 on paint though, hopefully the body is straight w/no major work needed except for prep for paint. Good luck!
