Hi All
Trying to fis my Wife's 88 IROC 5spd Convertible top release for the Tonneau Cover.
I have chased the Red wire to the Trunk pulldown area and when I removed the cover, almost all of the wires have been disconnected and i have no Idea where any of them go.
I'm looking for the Convertible Wiring Diagram for these Modified Cars - I have the Factory Service manuals and I do not see it anywhere.
Thanks

Welcome!
Yeah, unfortunately factory service manuals and books like Haynes, etc, have little to no information on the convertibles. This is likely due to the fact that it was never done by the Chev/Pontiac factories but contracted out to ASC.
I know we have a sticky here on Convertible Schematic Sheets, but I don't remember if they also represented any electrical (likley not). I'm sure there must be other members here who have also been in the same situation. Should be more replies coming.

Great looking Iroc, we had an 89 just like yours ( Red, 5spd with the GTA style wing on the trunk ) and sold it for big $$$, I came across this one and it was not in as good shape so we have had to do allot of work to it.
We had the local Tech School paint it, did a great job on the paint but left some other small things in a mess.
I think I'm at a point where I will just run the feed to the Solenoids from the Relay and be done with it.
I have a complete "birds nest" in my trunk where the Body Shop/ School we had it painted at like 3 years ago just covered it up.

Thanks. I wish I could help you out a little more. Good to here your new ride is getting some TLC. Sometimes it's easier to just run new wires than trying to figure out an existing mess. I guess you'll still always have the option of returning to that area later and go for a more stock repair.
Good luck. Somebody might still jump in with possible solutions.

Are the wires just disconnected at that point with connections to be made there, if so can you take a picture ,perhaps if they are disconnected there I could take a picture of mine to show color coding as to where they need to be connected since mine is an 88 with 5 speed if that makes a differenceOriginally Posted by French69ssrs

Hi Iroctopless
Thanks for the offer, I found out how the Wires are attached to the "white" lockout switch and did take a Picture for another Posting. Everything is working now for the Tonneau Cover release.
Go to
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/conv...eau-cover.html
I'll try and download the Pic.
Thanks again, I'm out in the garage now working on it, Putting a Leather 4th Gen set of Front/ drivers Power and Back seats to try and get my wife to like it a little more. She doesn't like the Clutch, we had the 89 and she liked to drive that one.
