scotch gaurd new top

Hey gang, I have a new top that is made out of the factory type material (cloth not vinyl) with a glass window. I was wondering if anyone ever used scotch gaurd or some other protectant before they installed it. I just thought of this tonight after I spilled my drink on the floor right beside my new top.
