I was wondering if anyone tried out this 87-88 upgrade latch kit from Hawks. The plastic piece that holds the lever on my 88 cracked and I have it fixed for now, but it's a pretty poor design. I read someone else on here way back snapped their's off by using a little too much pressure which I've heard is all too common.

Mine works fine, but if someone else were to try and use it they might snap it off. I'd like the car to work properly for anyone.

The 89-92 verts have a handle that looks more like the inside door handles and seems like a better design.

Anyone try it?

Do they give you instructions? How difficult is it to do?

I'm assuming you can't use the original cable and there are some other parts as well to complete the switch.

Tried to call Hawk's but they are tough to reach.

I did it in my 88. Hasn't failed once. Its a bit of money but will last
