Plastic pipes in rear quarter panel

Hello, All... I was cleaning up my '88 vert when I found a plastic "pipe" behind each of the doors in the quarter panel. They are about 2 feet long and just kind of stuck in there vertically... anybody know what they are for?

Re: Plastic pipes in rear quarter panel

They are there to channel the water from around the truck lid to the ground. It lets the water flow to the ground and not to where it would go if they were not there. You would want to remove them and clean them out with fresh water. Then when you install them make sure they are secured at the top. It is good to remove them from time to time because they tend to get clogged up with dust and dirt.
