New Exhaust! Excited to replace the 2.5” TOTALFLOW from Amazon (Post #61). Initially, I removed the Exhaust Turndown for polishing and that was a terrible idea as the exhaust torched the Rear Bumper Support, Rear Bumper and the Wiring Harness for the Rear Lights. So, all that needs to be addressed more thoroughly as I’m experiencing some type of electrical glitch as a result. I also lost the Exhaust Turndown ($34.99) Exhaust Tailpipe ($60.43) & Exhaust Hanger ($37.91) at work by carelessly leaving it behind.

I’ve always wanted a valve style muffler and these are discontinued.

Replaced the middle & upper Intake Manifold Gaskets. The upper Intake Manifold & Idle Air Control housing were sandblasted @ Freddy’s Carburetor in Paramount, CA. The Throttle Body & Idle Air Control Valve were thoroughly cleaned but I did reuse the IAC Valve O-ring & IAC housing gasket. Addressed a small pitted Coolant Nipple leak with some Steel Reinforced Epoxy from Post #58. Bolts, Spacers & Washers were simply esthetic...

Injectors were installed without retaining clips so that needed to be addressed (Post # 160) along with the injector o-rings, which were replaced with Fel-Pro, # 70599 for better fitment. The EGR tube gasket was also replaced with Fel-Pro, # 70411. Unfortunately, one of the two threads for the EGR tube mounting isn’t looking so great.

The Hood from my 1989 Formula 350 was swapped for a Fiberglass Cowl Induction Hood so I had that hood repainted in Bright Red VS White. I had originally provided the Auto Body Shop with SEM Hot Rod Satin Black which was FREE from Summit Racing but either they used it for something else or it was misplaced? The Hood spent a couple years (+3/4) at the Auto Body Shop and while I could have probably paid less since they lost my supplies, I felt it was right to redress for the passing of such a long period of time...

Almost all the parts I've replaced so far have been aftermarket, so I finally decided to try NEW Reproduction from HawksMotorSports. Not sure how I feel about doing business with them as they shipped me the incorrect item and there was some confusion on the matter which resulted in an expedited shipping charge for the return/exchange. The Door Sill Plates look great but unfortunately my Driver's Side Door Hinge Pin seems to be in need of replacement as there is visible wear on the Ground Effects and paint transfer on the Door Sill Plate.

The Battery that came with the car finally gave out; it was dated Jan. 2017. In keeping with the theme of the vehicle, it seemed fitting to settle on a USED Durlalast Battery.

Nice job with the car. Couple questions. 1) What's with the headlight that won't go down? If its the motor, it should be a pretty easy fix. 2) It looks like you have the MAP sensor mounted to the firewall cowl. Did you do that or is that normal on the V-6's? Are there vacuum lines running to them? I don't see any in the pics. BTW, if you're ever up on the Ventura County area with this car, let me know. Maye we can meet up somewhere.

 

@blacksunshine'91 1) The Headlight needs to be addressed; in the meantime, I just disconnected & left it open. 2) It's original position I believe as my 1989 Formula 350 with a MAP Sensor was identical. The Vacuum Lines aren't visible but they're there…

'89 would have been MAF, not SD. I didn't think MAF cars had a MAP sensor. We can defiantly find a time/location when the weather gets better.
