1986 ASC tonneau - 1987 the same?

I need to replace the vinyl pad assembly (vinyl covered ABS plastic) on my '86 Z28. Hawk has a 1987-88 part which they don't think will fit, but they have no '86 tonneau to compare it to. Are the metal tonneau covers shaped the same 1986 vs 1987 years??
