electric fan wires

Engine: 379cc twin cyl 2-stroke stroker
Transmission: 6 spd manual
Axle/Gears: 14/41 tooth
electric fan wires

on a single fan setup which wire is hot and which goes to a ground( or does it go to the negative battery terminal???) it looks like there are two black wires one of them has a red stripe on it.
