Summer cooling...Can't figure it
I have a problem...actually a bunch. I just bougfht a camaro with a 350, summit headers, (I replaced the carb to a holley 670 CFM avanger) performer intake and corvette cam (stock 350 heads). Now, I had the engine overheat, I replaced the water pump (checked the head gaskets and they weren't leaking and no white smoke out the tailpipe). It still runs a little hot. What could be the problem? I have an exhaust leak under the passenger side, so that may be the problem...or do I need a new radiator? I was thinking of using a really good water additive. I think the radiator needs to be flushed good. ALSO, I replaced the power steering fluid in march and yesterday I checked it and it was EMPTY. Can overheating do that? I am gonna check that because I think I have bad hoses. I am just worried that i have to get a new radiator.
Thanks!

You're running a NON CC distributor right?
What temp stat are you running? I'd go with at least a 180*.
Are you sure you're overheating? I'd check the gauge to be sure it's accurate.
When is it overheating? Traffic/Highway
Check the lower radiator hose to make sure it's not collapsing.
Still have your air dam?
Maybe replace the radiator cap, very cheap.
Make sure you're not running lean. Or no clogged exhaust. I doubt an exhaust leak would cause overheating, I have one and it doesn't.

Stuff
distributor is non computer controlled, and I had the thermostat replaced (don't know why because the fan goes on once the car is started) I guess the guy i bought the car from had overheating problems (got that from the JUG of antifreeze in the trunk) and I also had the water pump replaced when my friend drove the car and it overheated. That sucked because I had no car and the towers told me they could fix it. I said yes and they "fixed" the water pump. i paid for a replacement (Sh*tty Napa probably) water pump BUT, now I have antifreeze spewing from the hoses, which is visible on the underside of my hood. I am just gonna change the hoses and see what happens. Plus I have a power steering leak and I need to replace the hosos on that. DAMN I want to get this car rolling so i can put a new cam, MSD ignition, and possibly the performer heads.
