thermostat Housing Wires

thermostat Housing Wires

can anyone tell me what the wires that come out of the thermostat housing are used for,I know they go to the sensor.
but i am running 2 fans and like to know if i need them since the fans have another sensor.

Is it perhaps a carbed car? Then it has the temp sensor in there. Usually the ECM controls the secondary and temp sensor the primary.....or I have it mixed up I can't remember right now.
