another easy question.. manual fan switch

alright..
heres what i wanna do.
install a manual fan switch in the car so that when the key is on and the switch is on, it will run the fan.
with the switch turned off however, it will run like stock, the way its supposed to.
my car heats up a little too much before the fan kicks in, i want to change that.
what do i need to do.. in detail please! im new to this.
just need an easy way to make this work.
thank u

I ordered an adjustable temp/fan switch from summit for 25 bucks.
You can tune it for the desiered temp range and it is so nice.
It run only when needed, which gives me lots of power for other things.

And you then get a proper cool down.
when you shut your hot car off it gets really hot, the fan will run for a good 3-4 mins too cool the engine down.

I use to run one all the time but all it did was suck power.

try a search using "manual fan switch", you'll find a ton of stuff. Try the thirdgen tech and FAQ, as there's a manual fan switch install described there, that I used.

don't remember saying that the fans runs without the ignition on...it doesn't. It also does not affect the way the stock set up works.

Exactly how it's done depends to a degree on your car. You don't have sig. that gives any details. The easiest way is like it says in the tech article, you splice into the sender in the block, and ground this wire. No worries about finding a live, or smoking your car through too high a voltage going into a switch becuase you bypassed the fan relay, etc..
