Anyone tried this?

Has anyone rerouted the 3/4" heater hose that connects to the radiator just above the lower hose and t-ed it into the upper hose so that all of the water returned to the radiator gets cooled? Wouldn't it make the car run cooler since the hot water from the heater hose gets cooled off and not put back into the engine at the same temp it came out?

the tempeture control spring broke once in my monte carlo the heat always stayed even in the summer so I re routed the heater hose off the heater core to the engine in the summertime .
