Heating up?

I've got an 88 conv with a 350 tpi, it has a new water pump, new 160 thermostat but in traffic it still heats up. I have one fan hooked up to a switch the other comes on with the a/c. my question is are the 305 and 350 radiators the same. I know the car came with a 305 tpi but i'm not sure if we switched the radiators. if you pop the cap it looks like a whirlpool in the radiator so I know the water pump is working. and if you put your hand behind the fans while they are running it about scalds you. I dunno what the deal is but over time in traffic the car will get up to 230 or 240. our state is hold and it does reach 95 easily but that shouldn't affect it should it?
thanx for any help.

wow. you have any pictures of your car? iv always wanted a 350 convertable thirdgen..

well now onto ur cooling problem. 305 radiators are the same as 350 radiators.. but urs might need cleaning\replacing.. is it aluminum or copper? you also might want to get a new radiator cap and what coolent\water ratio are u running?
