ok, let's try again
Sorry about the messed up posts. Let's try again. Here's the problem. I have a 92 RS with a TBI 305. Everything is pretty much stock. I pull out of the driveway and within two blocks the Temp gauge reads over 260. On a friend's advice I put in a new thermostat this morning. Pull out of the drive and it does it again. Any ideas about this? I'm thinking mabye it needs a new waterpump.

The water pumps on our cars arnt very good, chances are the fins on the water pump corredoed off, or, you may have a clogged radiator, which can happen from corrision too. Check pressure on the hose. Hope its not serious!

Ok, you've done 1 thing, so keep going.
1- check the hoses for pressure.
2- have radiator cap tested/replaced.
3- check for air or low coolant levels.
4- perform a radiator flush.
5- replace the tempature sending unit.
6- Remove the waterpump and check for corrosion.
7- make sure the fans are turning on.
Have fun and let us know what happens.
