Oil cooler on LT1 nesesary??

I am in the middle of building my LT1 for the swap. I got an oil cooler specific (or so he said) for the LT1 but I have been reading a lot and most things say that an oil cooler on an LT1 is not good for it as it messes up the cooling effiency?? Sounds like whatever to me but you do you think??

GM dumped the cooler on the vettes in favor of using synthetic oil as the factory fill. To me the less crap on the engine the better.

Well it is in really good shape and all the hook ups are there so I am going to add it on. Should help to warm the oil when cold keep it cool when it is hot as I am going to run A/C (viva Las Vegas baby). May just be some extra insurance.
