new radiators
new radiators
welll i dont know what chevy's difunftional team of engineers was thinking when they made their radiators with PLASTIC, but apareantly this awsome weight saving idea failed and a big hole blew in my radiator. I plastic welded it closed, musnt have been a good weld to begine with but its leaking faster than a garden hose. Now that i figure that my radiator is completely messed up does anyone know of a radiator that will fit an 89 2.8L v6 engine that is of a better quality than the gabage i have now, and it would be nice if the radiator isnt gonna cost me every penny i got. thanks

I would just go to the local auto part store for a replacement. It should not be too bad. BTW, name a car built anywhere in the world that doesn't use plastic tanks these days? Not too many out there. Oh well!!

I assume it's the original. 14 yrs, not bad. The OE Harrison unit is a very high quality radiator. The plastic side tanks are very durable and can also be replaced by a rad shop for about $50. You can order the original for less than $140 online. There is more to it than just weight, plastic tanks are more forgiving with the constant expansion/contraction the rad experiences over it's service life. I'll bet you don't get 14-15 yrs from an aftermarket.
