flushing a radiator

I was having overheating problems and took the car to a mechanic to make sure I didn't replace the wrong thing. He told me I needed to have my radiator flushed and replace the t-stat. I'm going to replace the t-stat but a friend of mine told me that flushing the radiator was a waste. He said that if the radiator was clogged enough to create an overheating problem that I should replace it or have it re-cored, or rodded. I don't know exactly what getting a radiator rodded means but that's what he told me. Let me know what you think.

i think flushing the radiator ever now and then will keep it lasting but if its really clogged good then maybe its time for a new one...

i am not sure on how good a radiator flush would work for your case.

if you still have the factory one it might be time for a new one anyway..

as far as the stat is could be hanging up and not working so for around 8 bucks to swap a new one in might as well do it..

195 is most likely the stock temp, however i put in a 180 stat and my tpi car seemed to work well with it..
