V8 radiator in a V6?
Would putting the larger V8 radiator into a V6 help keep the tempurature down in stop and go traffic?
I live in calif and use the car as a daily driver and I don't even want to come CLOSE to overheating if I can help it.
This is a carburated 2.8L V6 and it is allready hitting around 200 <according to the stock guage, yes I know I should get an after market one> and it is only 65 degrees outside. Whats gonna happen when it hits 120?
Also, is it just this car or does heat radiate back from the engine intot he passanger area? I get some bleed in from the console, but I know there the rubber shifterboot is shot.

putting a rad from a V8 isnt really gonna ghange anything except retain more heat since its probably a bigger rad and will stay hotter longer as far as air flow it wont change either if you want to keep it running cooler try installing a 180 thermostat or even a 160 degree and you could add on an electric fan to the front of the rad with a switch

Yes I know that I would need a custom radiator hose, that does not bother me.
And yes I have thought about adding some electric fans to help the mechanical one. I plan on dropping in a 180 stat soon, I have heard it is not good to use a 160 as the engines were designed to run hotter then that would allow.

your right a 160 isnt good but add the 180 and if it doesnt help add a fan to it mine runs on a 180 and i have an electric fan on the front for really hot days and especially when i'm towing cause man when you tow that guage goes sky high

You can put a V8 radiator in a V6. If you find a 90-92 V6 car, those radiators work on V8's as well, and the hose is on the opposite side. no big deal, just get a different hose and you should be good to go. Your sig says you have an '84, so yes you will have to change the hose over. Also, the V6 engines ARE designed to run hot. Believe it or not, keeping an engine too cool can do damage to it.
