What Should I get?

I got the car running, 350 with aluminum Pro Ls, Comp 268XE cam, full exhaust. After idling for 20 mins the temp wants to creep up to 230*.

I have an aluminum Griffin radiator, upper and lower fan shroud with mechanical fan, mostly water in the radiator, and some Water Wetter and a 160* stat, new radiator cap.

I am running the stock 305 water pump as well. Also, the black plastic piece that sits atop near the hood latch is off, could that cause idle issues?

Should I invest in a high cfm electric fan or a higher flowing water pump?

Well, before you jump at anything, hit the basics.

Did you drill some small holes in the thermostat to help keep air pockets out of the engine when filling the coolant?

What I normally do is open radiator cap and crank the car up.....let it come up to temp ( Thermostat open ) you'll know it's open when you start seeing the coolant in the radiator flowing good......now add water / coolant to it at the radiator while it's running.........

The when full, cut it off and fill the overflow.

Are you using the stock temp gauge? I'm sorry, I just don't trust 'em, I've got an Autometer mechanical water temp gauge waiting to go in mine right now.......

Make sure the timing is okay, it being off enough can cause it to run warm.

Never heard of drillin holes in the stat.

I did start the car up with the cap off and filled it up that way.

The timing is advanced, not sure at what, my brother did it.

I would get a pair of the Spal electric fans. I have them and the highest temp I have seen so far has been 200 in traffic with AC on full blast. I also have a 160* stat.

Temp logged by autometer procomp mechanical guage.

i like the stewart water pumps. stage 1 should be fine unless you want aluminum. i would add a high flow water pump like the stewart.

I got mine for $245 from www.carshopinc.com They have the cheapest price that I have ever seen for the Spal dual 11" fans. They are expensive but they do work very well.
