help..still overheating

I recently posted about my car overheating...
My temp gauge was pinned at 260, & there was no coolant flow out of the radiator, & my fan was not turning on..

I replaced the thermostat & coolant temp sensor..
Now, the temp gauge doesnt work, NOW I am getting the SES code 15 which is for the coolant temp sensor(but it wasnt coming on b4 I changed it), my fan still wont come on..

But.. I unplugged the coolant temp sensor, & the fan turns on.. And the fan operates when I go to read the SES codes.. What the hell is going on?

Still no coolant flow out of the radiator.. The upper hose gets hot, lower stays cool.. Possibly water pump..fine.. but what is up with the temp guage, sensor & fan? I am going to try removing the thermostat & see if there is flow..If not, I know for sure it is a bad pump.. But I still need help with the rest..

Any ideas..??? Really need help b/c I'm totally stumped..

Thanks in advance

it almost sounds like the temp sensor is bad or not for that car. Not sure, but i figure some info will help. The temp gauge is on its own sensor call temp switch, if i remember correctly. Check the wire leading to the coolant temp sensor and make sure the wires aren't exposed. Or maybe someone changed the wires and mixed them up. Just some info I would check. Hope it helps.

SES means the computer or ECM is not seeing the sensor in circuit or is the incorrect one and it's out of range. I agree with the other post, you may be going backwards. Put in the old sensor see if the code clears. The fan is supposed to come on during ALDL code retrieval that's normal. Also if the CTS is unplugged the ECM is probably defaulting by kicking on the fan to protect the engine. When it's cold take off the rad cap and look down into it. There is a hose down a few inches(not the recovery bottle one) and when it's running you should see coolant flowing. that will tell you if the pump is turning. Otherwise normal troubleshooting should determine the problem. And yes, more info is always helpful. Sometimes the lower rad hose collapses causing the problem you describe.
