heater coil i think (pics)

i'm having a coolant leak inside the car, i was cvacuming the car today and saw some fluid on the carpet right by the botom air ducts. so i felt it and smelt it to make sure its not ol and then realized its coolant. i started to take apart some of my interior apats to find the problem but this what i came to.

Your correct..that is the heater core. From what you describe it is bad hence the leakijng and needs to be changed.Keep going till you get it out and put and new one in and you will be back in bussiness. Not hard at all.

Should be 1/2" and 5/8" hoses that connect to it.

No it's 3/4 and 5/8 inch. Check to see if there's debris clogging the rad fins.

GM designed these cars to run hot for clean emmissions. the ECM won't turn the fans on until 225.. Jet performance will have a unit that will kick the fan on at 195.
