Replacing Lower Radiator Hose

Hi,
I have to replace the lower radiator hose on my car (small leak). My question is once I do that And fill up the radiator do I have to "bleed" the system to get the air out ? If so, how do I do that ? Car is 91 with 350 L98. Honestly, I have never done this and have heard story of air locks causing all types of issues.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

just replace it, and fill the raditor up all the way. start the car and fill the raditor as it gets lower. once it is full put some in your overflowtank and your set. im replacing mine now but i'm also doing a heater core

Oh yeah, one more thing. Get real hose clamps. If you have the ones the factory puts on, they suck. You'll happy you did.

Also make sure after you have driven the car and the thermostat has opened and closed and the car has completely warmed up and cooled that you check the coolant again.

Call me old school, but I've NEVER had a problem by doing it this simple way...

Drain it all....it probably needs a flush anyway.

Install the hose. Now dump an entire gallon of antfreeze in the radiator....fill the radiator up the rest of the way with water. Crank the car, leaving the radiator cap OFF.

Let the car run, and as the coolant circulates the level will drop, go ahead and fill it up while the engine is running....pretty soon the thermostat will open, and the level might drop some more, keep filling it up until it's idled for about 15 minutes or so, and the level stays topped off.

Cut it off, install the cap, and fill the overflow to the HOT line...

You're done.

this is good advice, but let the coolant run through the heater core also, that'll take about a pint of liquid
