coolant flush advice
coolant flush advice
Just wondering what you guys do when flushing coolant since pulling the plug doesn't get everything out. Is there a plug in the engine block as well?? Do you guys just mix the new stuff with the little bit of old stuff still in there??

Whenever I flush my system out I usually just drain it and add. Or sometimes I would run some rad flush cleaner through the system. If you really want to get most of it out, you can pull the temp sensor from the block. It's usually between the #1 and #3 plug on the block. I don't think it's really necessary to get 100% of the fluid out. Kind of the same thing as an oil change. You never get it all out, but that's ok. You just need some fresh clean fluid in there.

There are two coolant drain plugs on both sides of the block just above the oil pan seal.. The one on the drivers side is easy to get too--this will drain most of the coolant..
TG88 - even on the V6?? I was looking under there yesterday and I saw one (on the drivers side) on th oil filter housing (the steel protrusion from the block that the filt4er attaches to). Would that be it?? I saw another on the passenger side hidden in behind the starter. The driver's side one looked kind of rusty so I am kind of leary about trying it. I don't want to snap it off. What condition were yours in?
