Electric Fan for HO

Ordered replacement water pump today, wondering how hard it would be to go to electric fan. I would like to route it to a thermostat (not a switch), and was wondering what kind of problems or how much of a b**ch this would be.

Get a hayden fan switch, they are thermostaticly controlled. I have one in my car (part number 3653 no ac relay as i have no ac) I bought that and a relay, It comes with a probe, the directions say to zip the probe to the rad, i didnt do that instead i zipped it to the upper rad hose because the hottest coolant in the rad is comming from this hose. You then wire the switch to the relay. Run a constant hot to the batt and a key on source to the relay. The key on source does not have to be thick high amp drain wire because it only turns the relay on, the relay then opens a direct current from the battery power to the fan switch, the switch then turns the fan on at a temperature set for it to come on. I installed the switch along with a 180* thermo, and set the switch for the fan to come on at 180*. ***** has a thread on this also. ITs VERY easy to do.Just be sure you get a high enough cfm fan for your motor.

It's belt driven, very sure. Because the fan bearing was worn out. And it has a pulley attached on the end. Thanks for the tips, will try to hook up electric fan; left it apart so me/my dad can replace the hoses.
