heater blower intake

Does anyone know where the heater/AC blower gets its air from? Mine seems to be sucking underhood fumes and makes the interior smell kinda funny when I use my vents for heating or cooling. I should probably take care of the source of the fumes too (I know where its coming from)

mostly from inside the car i thought, but some may come from the engine bay also.

depending on if there is a good seal to the firewall with the box also.

Ok, so I'm taking it my blower isn't sealed well. My hood rubber is intact, so it shouldn't be pulling engine smells from outside of the car.

Is it hard to replace the seal for the blower?
