Where's all my coolant going??
About every 3 weeks I have to add coolant to my radiator in my IROC for some reason. I don't see any leaks anywhere but when the car is running sometimes I can smell antifreeze......inside and outside the car. I'm hoping it's not a head gasket but knowing my luck it prolly is
although it doesn't smoke or blow anything out of the exhaust.
Anything else I can check before the worst case scenario?

things to tighten.
the two hoses on the passengers side firewall that connect to the heater core. those leaks sometimes and the coolant burns off on the manifolds/exhaust.
places to look, the water pump weep hole, that coolant can dip and dip and u dont see it.
umm the thermostat housing, around that area, could be a bad gasket or the bolts are not tight enough.

Check your carpet on the passenger side too, because your heater core may be leaking. Mine was dripping antifreeze out from under the dash and making hte carpet wet. Happens a lot.

How old is the radiator cap? Could be worn and time for a replacement.
Mine was doing the same thing....replaced the radiator cap and the coolant stopped evaporating.

The intake manifolds rear seal on our 3rd gens are notorious for leaking coolant out the back near the distributor, down onto your driveshaft, and makes its way back that way when you drive your can and its warmed up and you never see it dripping. If you can't find any of the other leaks mentions above this might be whats happening. You can go through the trouble of re installing your intake manifold with new gaskets or just keep checking your coolant level often.
