Over-heating

Hey guys, my 92 Camaro Rs is having cooling problems. The engine gets up to 240+ degrees after only like a mile of driving in 15 degree weather. When I pull over, the coolent is shooting into my overflow tank and smoking. I just had my waterpump replaced. What do you think could be the problem? Thanks for any advise you could give.
