Please help! Quick fan wireing question.

Ok i have an 87 formula firebird with dual fans. they don't work! the reason is that the orange wire which is supposed to go directly to the battery and always have power.... doesn't have power. i have ran all other tests and this is the definate reason. i need somone too help me figure out why!! i tried following the wired and it wraps around the engine and goes in with all the other wires, im sure it goes to the fuse box where the pin has power and the fuse is not blown. im getting desparate and i almost wanna just run a new wire but i don't want that.
Please someone throw me some ideas... is there an inline fuse somewhere?
