Maro Overheating When I Use A/c
Ok guys heres something that is bothering me. When I took my 1992 RS for a semi long trip about 400 miles with only stopping for gas the car was almost overheating on the highway (im in miami so its real hot and humid). With that said when drving in the city you NEED a/c but when I turn my on I can only go a few miles and my car starts geting real hot. What do u guys think could be the problem?? Should remove the thermostat? The water was replaced not too long ago. I have the wing in the front to direct the oncoming air. What could be causing this??

Have you checked to make sure your coolant fans are working? Has your radiator been flushed recently. Scale can build up in those copper radiators pretty quickly. Make sure the antifreeze to water ratio is correct. Make sure you water pump is still working good.

The thermostat could be sticking or rotted out. Has it been changed recently? Did you drill two small blead holes in it?
Still may be the cooling fans aren't coming on. That'll heat it up real quick.
Is your timing set where it is supposed to be. That can make an engine run too hot also.

Ye the fan is working good. I rigge it so its on all the time. I did change the thermo but I didn't drill bleed holes. Was I supposed too?

You don't have to but it helps to keep the thermostat from sticking. It's not always a problem, just something I have always done that seems to help.
The only other thing I can think of at the moment would be to check the timing. If it's off, that can make the engine overheat.
