Aux Fan problem
My primary fan is working correctly. However, when I sit in traffic, my car gets hot (around 250*) and the auxillary fan never turns on! I've looked (the best I can) and cannot find any melted/disconnected wires. Is there a relay connected to the auxillary fan that I may need to replace?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Real common problem. The fan relays should be located on the pass side at the front. The primary relay is down a little from the top of the rad behind it, the aux on my 89 Camaro is mounted above the battery on the pass side on the inner fender all by itself. They were real problems, NAPA and GM use a redesigned relay that is more reliable. My suggestion is to change them both and keep the one good one as a spare. Aux fan is run by a switch on the pass side around cyls 6&8, it has a single wire. If you remove that wire and ground it with the key on and the fan runs it's not the relay, however most times it is the relay. You can swap them around and see is the pri fan doesn't come on, just keep an eye on temp. They are also known to be intermittent, don't mess with them just try replacing them. Typical price is around 16-18 bucks a piece.

I'll try and replace those 2 relays soon.
Thanks for your help, Danno!
