Heater core Poll and story
well thanks to all the threads here helped me get mine done
1st bought it 17.99 lifetime warrenty autozone
2nd popped hood let it cool a bit
3rd figured id get to the core while car was coooling
4th couldnt find a 7mm socket went back to auto zone 1.99 bought it
5th got all screws out but the top one i couldnt find it at first then when i did couldnt get the socket over it and rotate it to get it going ...... 10 mins later went back in my basement to find a extension thing and also found a rachet with a neck that moves!!! lucky find...... 15 mins later.....dash pad off screws out ..... btw old way i found the screw was pulling the bottom open sticking my head in it and seen it.
6th went in engine to detach the hoses couldnt get them
7th started to un do the screws in the bracket holding it
8th got the hoses off got alittle burn (btw didnt drain the radiator)
9th pulled core out switched it put it back in put screws in and attached hoses turned car on to check for leaks NONE!!!
10 re assembled everything with a big relief since it was my first time
didnt put the top screw back in didnt even try to made sure it was sealed tight at the top though it seemed fine
had my radio at about 60/80 to **** my neighbor off that hates me for no reason he was outside also no other neighbors were home
