extremely frustrated

did a swap, 3.1 to a 350 edel performer intake, edel carb, small cam, headers, cant get my mechanical oil guage line to fill to the gauge, temp guage dont work, a real simple process, looks fine, should work, but dont .obviously a overheating problem i cant seem to figure out, new rad, bought it for the 3.1, new therm. 180 dgr. water flows fine, oil is pumping, fan runs constantly,electric, now the brown wire comming from the alt has lost its place and i cant find its spot.help

I'm sure most of these questions are appropriate for the general engine or engine swap forum, but as for the coolant related ones..I would suspect a bubble somewhere inside it. From what I hear you could try to solve that by filling the block from the thermostat. Is your temp sending unit in the driver's head, or somewhere else?
