Heater core - A/C vs non A/C

I have a brand new spare heater core that was for my 85 firebird without A/C I no longer have that car... was hit from behind and parted out. I now have a 89 firebird with A/C and my question is if the heater core for non A/C and the heater core for A/C are the same or not? Thanks!

I don't see why it would be. As far as I know, the heater core is idependent from the A/C system.
