How do you clean rust out of water passages?
What's the best way to clean rust out of water passages? What do you use to flush the system for best results?
I had to take my intake and water pump off for some repairs recently and noticed some rust in the intake and head water passages that I'd like to clean while I've got everything apart.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks.

dont worry about it.
every iron block motor has some rust in the coolent passages.
after the motor is back together, you can get a reverse flush kit... basicly it uses a garden hose to flush everything out.
but then you need to add either some GM sealing tablets or bars stop leak (ive always used teh stop leak) back to the system.
guess what that is?
if you guessed tiny flakes of stuff, you're right.... believe it or not, that lil bit of rust in the system stops leaks.. lol.
