Problems with fan relay....
On my 91 RS, i have found that I keep eating thru the fan relays, like atleast a new one everyother month. Any suggestions on how to correct/prevent this? And when it is working, it will like wiggle loose and then the fan wont work until i pop the hood and wiggle the socket and relay until it ingages and the fan turns on. What i'd really like to do is to wire the fan into the ignition, so basically when i turn the key the fan turns on and stays on until the key is turned off. Is this a logical move/does it make sense? Has anyone done this? How well does it work? And finally, how would I go about doin this (what would i wire it into)? Please be nice as i am not to bright when it comes to electrical and wiring. Any help would be appreciated.

Well running the fan like that will almost defently blow the fan motor after awhile. but if you really want to do it just run a wire from the dark blue wire on the driverside connector on the firewall " middle connector " to a ground. itll make the fan kick on as soon as you turn your ignition to the on position. not good for the fan tho.

Mine was doing the same thing. I finally just wrapped it with electrical tape to keep the wires from coming loose. The wires don't fit in the harness like they did 18 years ago. I haven't had a problem with it since. I had mine wired to the ignition for a while, but the car took forever to warm up, so I did the total fan control mod and got the relay working. You can find this mod in the tech articles.
