I'm I over heating or not!?!?!
I took the car to the carwash today and went for a little cruise afterwards, I was driving it pretty normal. I'll admit I was taking off a little fast its kinda of hard to resist with that monster under the hood, anyways when I got home I noticed smoke coming from the hood. So I immeaditly looked at the temp gauge and it was right on 220 which is normal for my car most the time. So I pop the hood and most of the smoke is coming from right side only. I was haveing brake problems so I had someone take that apart for me and in the process we lost some brake fluid so I put some more in it, I overfilled it a little and noticed it was leaking did'ent think much of it. I think a combination of that and the maybe some water got in the engine bay and it was just steam/vapor. Any other ideas? It really freaked me out tho.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Any ideas.
Oh yeah almost forgot while I had it idling the second fan kept on turning on it would go over 220 and the fan would turn on, the fan cooled it down then it would go up again and the fan would turn on again, this happend about 4 damn times! It's starting to worry me a bit. Any ideaS?

the smoke must be the fluid fluid your leaking touching a hot surface.Find out where your leak is and go from there.
And something is up with your fan.I dont think thats normal.....

the leaking
The deal where you put the brak fluid in was leaking becuase I accidentally overfilled it with brake fluid so it was letting some out.
What in the hell is wrong with the fans? I need mroe info then that, has this happend to anyone else?

The fans kicking off and on is normal. Check out this article
It's kind of like GM sick idea of a cooling system.
When you say "Right side only" are you talking about the passenger or driver side.
I've experienced both problems. Soon after I bought the car it overheated, because it was missing the Air Dam. My coolant was literally boiling into steam in the overflow container. The second time I had a faulty master cylinder gasket, which leaked out brake fluid onto the driver side header causing a major steam issue.

both at the sametime
It appears as if I am having both problems at the same damn time. How do I find out about my air dam? Maybe it's not that, I was think that maybe all the steam was tricking the car into thinking the engine was overheating or something. i think my master cylinder is leaking, how much did that job cost you , if you don't mind me asking.

The air dam is the plastic deflector mounted under the car nose. It directs air up into the radiator area. If you do some searches you'll find this covered. Normally with a car missing the Air Dam it'll run fine at low speeds but once it reaches higher highway speeds it'll quickly over heat. It's around $30 or so for a new one and is a really simple bolt on.
As for the MC gasket leak. Mine cost ~$5+ dollars for a new gasket from AutoZone. I installed it on the lid cover and was good to go again in the parking lot. You could check your gasket status by wiping the MC lid cover clean (keeps debris out of the fluid) and removing the cover. The gasket shouldn't have any warped corners or edges. Mine was barely pulling off the edge just enough to let fluid drip out onto the headers when pressure was applied.

Your brake fluid resevoir is right above your right side driver's exhaust manifold. It probably just burned off. You're lucky it didn't catch on fire though.
