I know why my fan runs constantly

1991 RS TBI
I have found why my electronic fan stays on at all times. There was some extra wire going to my fan motor and then to the main harness that enters my firewall. They shaved some of the wiring harness and wrapped wire around bare wire. Ran that to the main harness and shaved several wires. They found a ground which is on when the key is on, and then my fan runs. It has a new fan switch and the wiring to that is kinda screwy. I am gonna solder it and shrink wrap it to bring it back to safety.

I am going to try and do some rewiring tommorow and see if it helps. All of the wiring is still in my car. Relay clicks, but you can unhook it and the fan will still run. I need a very complexe wiring diagram for this. Someone who has it, can you post it or email it to me. PM for my email address.

Hope this post makes sense.

Fan now cuts on when it is supposed to. re ran some of the wires and cleaned my relay contacts. It does get hot and I can deal with it. Most likely going to put a low temp switch and thermostat in it soon. Might even replace the fan motor to a new one for insurance reasons. Or just upgrade to a better fan, something aftermarket.
